The firemen policemen and friends so dear Began to help homes to clear olks lost their homes and treasures so dear Many eyes were filled with tears The roads caved in travel was slow olks were puzzled where to go Bridges washed out while folks looked on They believe they were really gone The ones that were left were closed off too No one was allowed to pass on through Houses furniture and cars were swept away There was no possible way they could stay But thanks to cops firemen and citizens so kind Many helpful ways they did find The Coast Guards and National Guards their parts did do To ease their minds and see them through EK Chase Skowhegan Phoebe or not phoebe? Dear Editor A nice side benefit to me from the ice article March 22 is that received a letter from Amelia Willey who lives in York She liked the article and also enjoy the whole paper! However I doubt you heard a phoebe in March The chickadee make a spring call that says But when you hear a real phoebe later you will note an inflection on the end that goes up and is different just take my word and other bird for it!
