attended schools there He graduated from Cony High School and from Bowdoin College in 1923 He was a member of Beta Theta Pi and had been in charge of the Yeoman und for the fraternity for many years has died at the age of 54 Kiely a resident of North Arling ton died yesterday in Mountainside Hospital here Kiely began his baseball career in the late 1940s playing for the Red Sox Single A League farm team in Birmingham Ala He advanced to the Double A League team in Louisville and moved into the major leagues with the Red Sox in 1951 A left handed pitcher Kiely became a reliever in 1953 and had his best year in 1958 with 5 wins 2 losses and 12 saves and an earned run average of 300 He finished his career with the Red Sox in 1959 but before retiring from the sport he pitched one season with the Kansas City Athletics in 1960 Later he was employed as a me chanic for the inkle Trucking Co in Clifton He retired in 1974 Kiely is survived by his wife Mari lyn son Leo and two brothers A
