Thursday afternoon when the canopy over the gas pumps at a Winslow cat wash collapsed under the weight of ice snow and rain authorities said Shawn Bickford 28 an employ ee at Kwik Car Wash and Gas Station on Bay Street was chipping ice from the ground when the roof gave way He was crushed under the wood and metal structure A spokesman for the State Medical office in Augusta said the exact cause of death would be released riday irefighters and rescue workers from Winslow Waterville Wfield and Oakland worked for nearly two hours before finding the body Rescue workers arrived minutes after the structure collapsed and volunteers with earth moving equip ment joined the effort shortly after the collapse was reported to police at 12:32 pm Within minutes a combination backhoe and front end Head of alls to John Joseph Sound familiar?
