LOCAL MAINE Sunday, December 4, 2011 Morning Sentinel OBITUARIES MARK REILLY 1951-2011 AUGUSTA Mark Reilly of Waterville died Wednesday, Nov. 30, in Augusta of pancreatic and liver cancer. He was born in Nyack, N.Y., and lived with his family near Trieste, Italy, from 1954 to 1959, speaking fluent Italian and attending local schools. Mark lived in Wheaton, from 1959 to 1974 and was an alumnus of the University of Maryland at College Park. Over the next 37 years he lived in Washington, D.C.; Philadelphia; Atlanta; Alexandria, and Waterville.

Mark was a lifelong lover of rock music and had a huge collection of classic LPs. He cherished all things Russian (his mother's heritage), and he was a photography buff. He was a member of the Amalgamated Lithographers Association, part of the Graphic Communications Conference of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. As a union lithographer, Mark worked at newspapers in the Washington metro area, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Maine for much of his life. He was proud of his work in printing and photography, and he loved to party, which he memorably did with 500,000 of his friends at Woodstock just before his 18th birthday.

Mark was predeceased by his mother, Natalia, his father, Frank, and his aunt Marina and is survived by his siblings Adrian, Vladimir and Erika; his brother-in-law Harv; his cousins Irina and Tim; and his nephews Zane and Kyle. BRADFORD BRYANT BROWN, D.V.M. 1929-2011 PETERBOROUGH, N.H. Dr. Bradford Bryant Brown, D.V.M., died Dec.

2 at Monad nock Community Hospital after a short illness. He was 82 years old. He resided most recently at Pheasantwood nursing home in Peterborough, N.H. Dr. Brown was born in Vassalboro, Maine, on June 15, 1929, the fourth child of Hazle Crosby and Philip Raymond Brown.

He and his five siblings grew up on a family farm during the Great Depression. Following in the footsteps of his eldest brother, Philip R. Brown Brad became a veterinarian. He attended the University of Maine and the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. After graduating, he joined his brother's veterinary practice in Belfast, Maine, and eventually started his own animal hospital.

He described his adventures with farm animals over the course of his 40-year career in two recent books, "While You're Here, Doc and Just One More Thing, Doc" (Tilbury Press). Reilly, Mark, of Waterville, BRIEFS Headstone returned to rightful place BANGOR A 161-year-old gravestone has been returned to its rightful place in Maine after sitting for years in a sheriff's department evidence room. The gravestone for Alzada A. Fifield, who died in 1850 at the age of 7 months, has been returned to the small Bradford Corner Cemetery in Bradford. That grave marker and two other stolen gravestones had sat for years in a Penobscot County Sheriff's Department evidence room.

Two of the headstones were returned to their proper places after Sheriff Glenn Ross asked for the public's help in determining where they had come from. There will be no calling hours and no formal service. A memorial service will be held in Maine at a date to be determined and announced at a later date. A Cumberland County Superior Court jury this week found Sarah Fairbanks guilty of theft by deception and unsworn falsification. Attorney General William Schneider says Fairbanks falsely reported to the Maine Department of Health and Human Services that she was separated from her husband and living alone with her children, when in fact she was with living with her husband and receiving support from him. As a result, Schneider say Fairbanks received nearly $60,000 in benefits she wasn't entitled to from January 2005 through May 2010.
